Welcome to Urban Grind on Royal, a charming cafe nestled in the heart of Tuart Hill, Western Australia. Located at 73C Royal St, this local gem is not merely a coffee shop; it’s a sanctuary for those who appreciate quality food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

As you step inside, you're greeted with a spacious, relaxed setting that frames the delightful experience awaiting you. The ambiance is friendly and calming, making it the perfect spot for breakfast meetings, weekend brunches, or cozy catch-ups with friends. Both indoor and outdoor seating options are available, letting you enjoy your meal in the sunshine or the shade, depending on your mood.

The star of the show here is undoubtedly the menu, crafted to appeal to a range of palates. Start your day with the indulgent Dang Dang Benedict, where two soft poached eggs elegantly rest atop a bed of slow-cooked lemongrass and coconut black Angus beef, melted cheese, steamed kale, and caramelised onion on ciabatta toast, drizzled with spicy hollandaise that ignites your taste buds. Another highlight is the Avocado on Toast, where creamy avocado meets whipped ricotta cheese, pine nut pesto, and fresh pickled cherry tomatoes—every bite feels like a celebration of freshness and flavor.

Reviewers rave about Urban Grind’s offerings. Ben Fellows calls it his "favorite place for coffee and a bite to eat," praising both the friendly staff and the exceptional coffee quality, which many locals, including J Fisher, agree is among the best in Perth. Julia Poulet appreciates the calming atmosphere and extensive drink sizes available, while Rita K speaks fondly of the community feel, where regulars are greeted warmly by the owner. Justene Ridsdale is excited about the new sit-down menu and additional opening hours, which further enrich the experience at Urban Grind.

Beyond just food and coffee, Urban Grind is a place where relationships are fostered, and flavors are celebrated. Whether you’re coming in for a quick takeaway or planning to linger over a delicious dish, the friendly faces and thoughtful food will keep you coming back for more. If you’re in the area, make sure to pay a visit—this cafe embodies the spirit of local charm and culinary excellence that makes every meal a memorable one.

My favourite place for coffee and bite to eat. Staff are all amazing, the best coffee in Perth and a great selection of food to eat in or take away on the go. Highly recommend to anyone.

Excellent place for coffee and breakfast! The food is delicious, they have a range of dine in breakfast options. Coffee is great too. The staff are also absolutely lovely.

The place has a relaxed, spacious feel and calming atmosphere. You have the option to dine in (inside and outside dining options) or takeaway. For both hot and cold drinks, they offer three sizes. Small, medium and large (biggest looks more like jumbo). My husband had a toasted ham and cheese sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed and I had a cinnamon scroll which was soft and spongey. The moccas were good too. Highly recommend.

Such a lovely local gem! Great coffee, thoughtful food, and super friendly staff — it really feels like a neighborhood spot where everyone knows each other. The owner was chatting with regulars the whole time, which made the atmosphere even warmer. There are so many different jaffles to choose from (I had serious decision paralysis ), but my top picks are the bacon, egg & hash brown, and the butter chicken ones — both are amazing. I also tried the Dang Dang Benedict this time and loved it. I thought it might be too heavy with the beef and sauce, but the kale balanced it out surprisingly well. The avocado on toast came with a white sauce (not sure what it was, but it worked beautifully with pesto!) — really brought the whole dish together. So glad to have such a cozy and delicious spot in the neighborhood.

Has been my favourite coffee shop since moving into the area, it has new management but that’s only made it better with a new dine food menu as well as the same take away options. It’s the perfect spot for a quick take away coffee, brunch with friends, work meeting & they do catering options!!! Will always recommend them, they treat you like family and my daughter’s favourite spot for chips x
